The President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN) Community Leadership
Award is given out annually to no more than fifty (50) individuals who improve the
lives of individuals within his/her community by providing or enhancing opportunities
to engage in sports, physical activities, fitness, or nutrition-related programs.
The word "community" may refer to a State, organization, sports league or team,
business, city, or community-based group.
Deadline and Process
Nominations must be received by February 1. Nominations received
after February 1 will be considered in the following year's award cycle. Nominations
with incomplete information will not be considered. Eligible nominations will be
reviewed and winners determined by the PCFSN Council members.
Winners will be announced in May and will receive a certificate and letter from
the PCFSN Executive Director and Council Co-Chairs. If location and time permit,
a council member may present the award to the winner at a special ceremony (arranged
by the organization or person making the nomination).

the individual's accomplishments and how his/her efforts have improved the lives
of others. Include information on the size of the community touched by the individual(s)
and the frequency with which the individual(s) interact(s) with this population.
